The Story

At 2 years and 4 months, Vishu was one of the older children in the Shishu Bhojan cohort. While linear growth typically slows down at this age, her baseline assessment in November showed her to be significantly underweight with a low MUAC of 5.5 cm. Vishu’s journey over the three months became a remarkable example of comprehensive recovery. She was the most well-rounded performer, showing improvement across all four tracked health indicators: Her weight increased significantly from 7.0 kg to 10.5 kg, a total gain of +3.5 kg. She grew a notable +6 cm in height. Her MUAC improved from 5.5 cm to 6.5 cm, moving her out of the most critical risk category. Even her head circumference showed a gain of +1 cm, an encouraging sign of full-spectrum development.
